Starting Over

21 Aug

Starting-OverThe show will go on in DC this coming May, 2014. I’m simply taking some time to figure out where to go from here, as my partnership unfortunately did not work out due to our vastly different work styles.

I have an incredible team surrounding me here in Virginia and I know that with all the hard work and passion that is going into this project, it most certainly will be a success. I may have failed at a partnership, but I will not fail at executing my vision for this show.

I envision this show to become a community of people coming together to embrace mental illness so as not to let it define them, but to propel a movement forward. A movement built on the belief that those of us living with mental illnesses are real people who simply need help. By coming together as a supportive society which fights for mental health services and programs, we will

change and save lives.

Please follow along here, and/or via Instagram and Twitter for updates as they become available. For now, if you’re local to the DC metro area, or you’re interested in coming in from out of town to see the show, mark your calendar for the weekend of May 17 & 18, 2014.

Thank you for all your support and I hope to see you at the show!

I’m so glad that you’re still moving forward with the show. Don’t feel like you’ve failed in anything; you’re just continuing to define this process. I’m excited to see where it leads!

Good for you for starting over and continuing on with your vision. Overcoming adversity is definitely something those of us with bipolar know how to do well. Best of luck with everything!!

Thank you so much, Alison. It’s never easy when things don’t work out, but I know it’s for the best and it’ll work out. I appreciate your support and will definitely let you know how you can help as we get closer! :)

I am sorry that it didn’t work out for you. It’s wonderful that you are continuing to advocate and support which is a great involvement even though not directly involved.

I can relate in a manner. I gave up a job yesterday because I couldn’t commit until I found out about another (better) job today. Well, today I haven’t gotten a call yet which I assume means I didn’t get it. I’m disappointed since it’s one I thought I was perfect for…school social worker. But, I guess God has something better in mind. I’m in tears and doing my best not to fall into the trap of the “I’m not good enough” or “what’s wrong with me” thinking. I’m glad I see my therapist today. It will all work out. I have faith and hope.

Thank you so much, Shelly. You have a great attitude about the future, and I feel the same way. I believe in the old cliche that “everything happens for a reason” and I also have faith in the future. I know it will work out, for both of us. Keep your chin up. Thank you for sharing and for commenting.

I'd love to hear your take. Comments make me happy!
